Black Barn Retreats and Covid-19
While we have been working with a number of people wishing to cancel or defer their bookings we are also experiencing increased demand from people wanting longer stays and a place to 'ride it out' in a beautiful peaceful environment.
To ensure we are most actively addressing the needs of both these requirements please read this list of modifications to our procedures to ensure your utmost convenience and safety:
Current bookings wishing to delay or cancel
If your cancellation is more than 30 days out from your booking our current cancellation criteria apply where you will receive a full refund of your deposit minus a $250 booking and processing fee.
If your cancellation is within the 30 day period, we will not charge you the full amount of your stay as required under our conditions. We will hold your deposit to go towards an alternative booking anytime within a 12 month period from your current booking. If you wish to cancel rather than defer your booking, your deposit can not be refunded.
Current reservations checking in the same day someone else is checking out
If this is the case with your current booking we will be contacting you directly. To ensure the safety of both our guests and our cleaning teams we wish to expand the ‘gap’ between checkout and check-in as long as possible to allow a thorough clean of the property. We ask that guests check out by 9 am rather than 11 am and delay check-in until 5 pm rather than 3 pm.
We have disabled our automatic online booking procedure. You can still use this mechanism to see available dates for all properties then please click on “make an enquiry” to be put in touch with our Retreats Manager to make a booking. This will be in place for the foreseeable future.
This is because we are going to build in a 24 hour 'no occupancy’ gap between all future reservations. Again, this gives our cleaning staff more time for thorough disinfecting and removes any potential risk of the virus being passed from one reservation to the next.
Other things you should note:
- all future reservations will be accessed by the lockbox at the property rather than coming to the Cellar Door. You will receive full instructions on this at time of booking.
- our cleaning team will be thoroughly disinfecting areas between reservations such as door handles, light switches, hard surfaces etc.
- breakfast provisions will be limited to wrapped goods only. Sadly this will reduce the amount of fresh fruit, hand made artisan products etc that we usually provide. We will compensate for this with an increase in wrapped goods provided.
Future long term stays
If you would like to stay with us in the coming months for two weeks or more, please contact us directly.
It is unlikely we will be able to provide servicing through your stay but we can arrange for provisions and food drop-offs and we can discuss with you special rates for longer stays.
We can accommodate and provide drop off services to those who might wish to self isolate but we cannot accommodate anyone who has the coronavirus who wishes to use our properties for quarantine purposes.
