Clifton is located in Te Awanga, a small beachside community. It is in close proximity to the surrounding houses. Up the road you have Cape Kidnappers Golf Course, The Farm - a 5,000 acre farm which includes the world famous gannet colony and several miles of spectacular Hawkes Bay coastline. Clifton is just 30 minutes from Napier Airport, 15 minutes from Havelock North (and Black Barn Vineyards) and many of Hawkes Bay's best wineries and attractions are just a short distance from the retreat.
Unlike hotel mini bars, these wines are supplied to you at winery prices and significantly less than hospitality rates. If there is a Black Barn wine we don't have in your retreat just let us know and we will have it ready for your arrival.
Wonderful attractions are right on your doorstep. Private and secluded river swimming is a short walk away as is the local beach. Gannet Safaris overland leave regularly for Cape Kidnappers ajust down the road. This offers the chance to drive over the station and experience the spectacular cliff-top views including the farm and golf course before arriving at the Gannet Colony, this trip can be experienced year round. Some of New Zealand's best wineries and small winery restaurants are just minutes from the retreat. 20 minutes away is Napier, a city destroyed and rebuilt after an earthquake in 1931. It is now recognised as one of the most significant Art deco cities in the world. Beautiful long ocean swimming beaches are a 30-minute drive to the south. Golf courses, trout fishing rivers and great walks all near by. Clifton is $950.00 per night for up to six people using three kingsized bedrooms each with en-suite, one of which can be split into twin occupancy and the master room being situated upstairs. The living room and open kitchen is on first floor with panoramic sea views and indoor fireplace. A secondary living room/pool area is found on the ground floor. First morning breakfast provisions supplied. The minimum stay is two nights and sorry, no pets and no smoking indoors.
