New Zealand music icon Bic Runga returns with her much-anticipated new album Red Sunset, releasing Friday, February 13. The album marks her first collection of all-original material since 2011’s Belle, opening a radiant new chapter for one of Aotearoa’s most celebrated artists.
The Red Sunset Tour opens at the Black Barn Amphitheatre on Saturday, March 7, where Bic will perform songs from the new album alongside favourites from her iconic catalogue — from “Drive” and “Sway” to “Beautiful Collision” and more.
Recorded in Paris during the winter of 2025, Red Sunset is available now for pre-order. Its lead single and title track, “Red Sunset,” is out now — a powerful torch song of longing and desire, co-produced by Bic Runga and Kody Nielson.
The new single follows earlier releases:
• “It’s Like Summertime” — a nostalgic, forward-looking anthem capturing the warmth of childhood memories.
• “Paris in the Rain” — a cinematic soundscape written on a stormy night in Paris, featuring the distinctive sound of a historic 1807 French Pleyel piano.
