Our experienced team will guide you through tutored tastings of our current release wines, the odd hidden gem and the elements of Black Barn that make us a popular visitor destination in Hawke's Bay. Our Cellar Door also offers a range of wines for purchase, including rare wines that you won't see anywhere else. We offer wine tastings throughout the year with our Cellar Door open seven days a week.

For groups less than 10 there is no need to book.
For groups over 10 and up to 15 people, we ask you to get in touch, so we can book your group in for a tasting at a suitable time.
Bookings are essential. The Cellar Door team, with our winemaker Dave McKee* will conduct a private tasting with at least five of our current releases. Learn the history of Black Barn with an in-depth look at our wines, vineyards, also other elements of our visitor destination. Depending on the weather, your group size and availability, this may be in the Underground Cellar, under the figs or vines, the Cellar Door or in the Olive Shed.
The River Room is a beautiful stand-alone venue perched above the Tuki Tuki River under the dramatic eastern face of Te Mata Peak. Learn the history of Black Barn Vineyards with an in-depth tasting of at least four current release wines from our Cellar Door team. Black Barn offers three styles of tastings at the River Room:
