American automotive designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and fearless British race car driver Ken Miles (Bale) battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary vehicle for the Ford Motor Co. Together, they plan to compete against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.
The movie delivers all the polished motor action audiences will expect - and balances it with gripping human drama to satisfy non-racing enthusiasts as well.

Hawke’s Bay’s 17th outdoor film festival at the Black Barn Amphitheatre in Havelock North is just around the corner. The 2020/2021 season will run over nine nights from 27 - 30 December 2020 and from 2 – 6 January 2021. eTickets are available to purchase online. The Amphitheatre in the foothills of Te Mata Peak is purpose-built for performances and has quickly gained a reputation as one of New Zealand’s finest outdoor venues. It has great acoustics, good sightlines, the best of technology installed and views to die for. Moviegoers can relax back on grassed terraces, sip a glass of wine, nibble on snacks from the in-house caterers or bring a picnic of their own to share with friends. Image by Tom Burstyn
Adult Ticket: $20 + $2 booking fee / $25 at the gate
The Amphitheatre has flat, grassed terraces. You are welcome to bring rugs, pillows and low chairs, but no large beanbags as they take up too much space. High chairs can only be used at the very back of the venue or below the third terrace so that the views of others are not impeded – no exceptions. We thank you for honouring this policy.
Wine, beer, coffee and soft drinks will be available for purchase. No alcohol or other beverages to be brought into the venue. Sealed bottled water is allowed.
